After abandoning a life of civilized comfort, William decided to leave society and sailed the seven seas at the hardened age of three. While sailing leisurely in the eye of a perfect storm his ship finally capsized leaving him to swim for 3 months before washing up on the shores of Africa where he joined a pride of lions and raised them as his own. After years of ruling the jungle, he longed for seclusion and decided to leave his pride for the thrill of Antarctica. It was there he came upon the most ferocious of bears and with nothing but a wooden spoon, William conquered his foe. It was later that evening William celebrated his 14th birthday. Soon after he realized that even in a place unforgiving as Antarctica there would be no man or beast that could match his devastation. After realizing this infallible truth William swam for the greatest of the English where he taught boxing lessons to a young Michael Peterson who has become more commonly known as Charles Bronson. Soon after, he moved to the United States and met a woman named Wilma Nee Scarberry and after one passionate night, moved on to live as a mountain man in the hills of Tennessee. After many years William returned to the society he left as a child and submitted his designs to the office of patents for what is now known as a space shuttle, electric guitar, nuclear powered submarine and the slap chop. Among many things, William is an avid rock climber, classic car collector, airplane pilot, astronaut, pirate, banana farmer, elephant herder, UFO mechanic, electrical engineer, gynecologist, sandwich artist, professional ice carver and amateur race car driver. Some of his hobbies include but are not limited to, skydiving without a parachute, lion wrestling, car lifting, beard growing, bare knuckle bear boxing, and arm wrestling anacondas.

Established in 2006.

Owner Jedidia Reid began his tattoo career in Corpus Christi, TX in 1999 after working for several years as a piercer at Forever Art Tattoo. In seeking personal deliverance he moved here to San Antonio in 2003 and began working at Dandyland Tattoo. When Jedidia decided to be a shop owner, he tried to buy several tattoo studios which were in disrepair. After attempts fell through, the perfect spot came up for lease, which had previously been a tattoo/piercing shop named Backbone for 12 years. He officially opened Element Tattoo in May 2006 after several months of renovation. It was a small shop at the time that housed 4 tattooers. Over the next year the shop blew up and doubled in size. In the summer of 2008 Element Tattoo had an electrical failure and caught fire in the night. It was a long hard road to rise out of the damage the flames had left. The Element crew pulled together and succeeded. In the manner of perseverance over failure, we hope to be here for many more years.

Great artwork, Austin Gervais did an incredible job on my wife and my tattoo's. Takes time to get the work done correctly (no BS), "Go big, or go home!"

I loved Element! I did at walk in when I went and they were very friendly, they got me hooked up with an artist right away plus they were doing HALF OFF all Sailor Jerry tattoos which is an AMAZING deal! My artist was Rick, I got a tattoo on my arm that's basically a quarter-sleeve and it only took him 2.5 hours with color and everything. He made sure that I was comfortable the whole time and he did an awesome job! This is the kind of tattoo that everyone is jealous of. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone, it was one of the best I've seen and extremely organized and clean. They seem to specialize in traditional tattoos also and I don't find a lot of shops with the exact style I like but this is it!

My Dad and I got matching tattoos that involved heavy line work, and Tyson did a kick ass job on both. We were walk ins, and for him to be able to do both right away was phenomenal. You can tell these artists are the real deal. I would highly recommend.

My son and I spent about 6 1/2 hours in the studio last week getting ink together. Very professional. Very clean. Very capable artists. His was a new one and mine was a cover up. Very happy.

Best shop and best tattoo artists in town. My wife and I have been going to Element for years and get our work done by Jedi. I have sent many friends and family members there all of which were extremely satisfied. We have people stop us all the time to ask where we got our work done. We both spent hours in that shop so I've seen first hand the work as it is being done by everyone. Everything is solid, the artists are more than qualified, the shop is very clean, they can all do a variety of styles and each have their own specialty. You can go somewhere else but you'll most likely end up at Element asking for a coverup... they are very good at those too - Blake Hornsby

How much is it going to cost?

When it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. If you have something in mind please call us or come talk to us, we can give you an idea of hat you will be investing in for your tattoo. Remember, it is a piece of art you will wear for life. Take my advice or  you’ll be crying to a real artist to have it covered up later. Look for quality, and be willing to pay for it. NEVER haggle over the price of a tattoo. If you can’t afford to pay for quality, don’t bother. Just wait and save your pennies and come back when your ready.

Can I use some kind of numbing cream?

Please don’t do this, its really not recommended.

Does it hurt?

Everyone has a different pain tolerance. It really depends on the person, also the area you choose for your tattoo. It of course does hurt some. Most people can handle it just fine. Some people feels like a  “hot scratching feeling”. If it hurt that bad people would not return again and again for tattoo after tattoo. From my observations the feeling and beauty of a well done tattoo usually outweighs a little pain.

Are Tattoos Safe?

Yes, as long as you go to a reputable artist that is following all recommended safety precautions. Element tattoo prides itself  on going above and beyond standard procedure.
